Multi-polarization leaky-wave radiation based on a Full Spoof Surface Plasmons System
In this paper, the multi-polarization leaky-wave radiation based on a full spoof surface plasmons system is realized. By periodically loading spoof localized surface plasmons (SLSPs) patches on the spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) waveguide, circularly-polarized leaky-wave radiation can be achieved by exploiting the vortex wave effect of SLSPs. The proposed multi-polarized leaky-wave antenna (LWA) has two SSPPs waveguides arranged in reverse symmetry and four feeding ports. The LWA radiates left-handed circularly polarized (LHCP) waves when port 1 is fed, and a right-handed circularly polarized (RHCP) waves when port 3 is fed. Combining the two CP waves and giving different initial phase combinations can produce the multi-polarization effect, including purely linear polarizations (LP) such as x- and y-polarization. The full spoof surface plasmons system may be further extended to provide a reference scheme for polarization design for higher-frequency plasma radiation.
