A Reconfigurable Dipole Antenna with Wide-Beam and High-Gain

This paper presents a radiation pattern reconfigurable dipole antenna with two radiation modes: a wide-beam mode and a high-gain mode. The switching between these modes is achieved through the use of photodiodes. Both modes operate at a center frequency of 1.57GHz. In the wide-beam mode, the half-power beamwidth (HPBW) in the E-plane is larger than 135°, while the maximum gain of the high-gain mode is 4.9dBi.

Abstract

This paper presents a radiation pattern reconfigurable dipole antenna with two radiation modes: a wide-beam mode and a high-gain mode. The switching between these modes is achieved through the use of photodiodes. Both modes operate at a center frequency of 1.57GHz. In the wide-beam mode, the half-power beamwidth (HPBW) in the E-plane is larger than 135°, while the maximum gain of the high-gain mode is 4.9dBi.
