A Novel Polarization Conversion Metasurface With Wide Transmission band

This paper proposes a novel broadband polarization conversion metasurface (PCM) that has a wide transmission band with low insertion loss. The PCM is composed of a polarization conversion layer and a band-pass frequency-selective surface (FSS). A high transmission window with an insertion loss less than 1.5 dB in the desired pass band from 5.8 GHz to 10.7 GHz and a wide low-backscattering band from 3.5 GHz to 18 GHz are achieved simultaneously.

Abstract

This paper proposes a novel broadband polarization conversion metasurface (PCM) that has a wide transmission band with low insertion loss. The PCM is composed of a polarization conversion layer and a band-pass frequency-selective surface (FSS). A high transmission window with an insertion loss less than 1.5 dB in the desired pass band from 5.8 GHz to 10.7 GHz and a wide low-backscattering band from 3.5 GHz to 18 GHz are achieved simultaneously.
