A GPS Antenna Protection System Loaded with Energy Selective Surface
To reduce the influence of electromagnetic pulse/ high-power microwave (EMP/HPM) on GPS antenna, the bandpass energy selective surface (ESS) is loaded in front of the antenna. It can realize that the small signal can pass through with low loss, and strong electromagnetic signals can be effectively shielded in the operating band of the GPS antenna (1.56GHz-1.59GHz). In addition, loading ESS has little influence on S11, gain, axis ratio of the GPS antenna. And the shielding coefficient of the received waveform peak at the antenna port reaches 12dB, when the large signal in band is incident.
