An Efficient Incremental Length Diffraction Coefficients Method Based on Quadratic Patches

High frequency electromagnetic scattering algorithm has been widely used in analyzing the scattering characteristics for electrically large scatterers. The incremental length of diffraction coefficients (ILDC) method considers the Fock current, which could capture the diffraction field contributed by the creeping wave. However, the traditional ILDC method is not available for arbitrary convex targets with discretized mesh. In this work, a fast physical optics (PO) and ILDC hybrid (FPO-QILDC) method based on quadratic patches is proposed to compute the scattered field accurately and efficiently. The error between results computed by the FPO-QILDC and the full wave method could be reduced to 0.46 dB.
