Electromagnetic-Hydrodynamic Analysis of Optical Nonlocal Effects of Nanoparticles

The effect of non-local optical response metallic nanostructures described by the hydrodynamical Drude model (HDM) is modeled and analyzed by the finite element method (FEM). A coupling is achieved by means of a set of Maxwell's equations and the hydrodynamic equations. An example of metallic nanodimer is provided to demonstrate this multiphysics modeling .

Abstract

The effect of non-local optical response metallic nanostructures described by the hydrodynamical Drude model (HDM) is modeled and analyzed by the finite element method (FEM). A coupling is achieved by means of a set of Maxwell's equations and the hydrodynamic equations. An example of metallic nanodimer is provided to demonstrate this multiphysics modeling .
