A Ultra-Wideband Magneto-Electric Dipole Antenna With Improved Feeding Structure
In this paper, a new ultra-wideband magnetoelectric dipole antenna with improved feed structure is proposed. Not only is the trapezoidal electric dipole used instead of the traditional rectangular electric dipole, but the step feed structure is also used instead of the traditional 「 type feed structure to extend the operating bandwidth of the antenna. In addition, the gain of the antenna is effectively improved by loading a rectangular cavity structure around the antenna which utilizes the cavity to reflect the electromagnetic wave. The simulation results show that an impedance bandwidth of 57% is realized in the frequency band range of 1.74 ~ 3.13 GHz with VSWR < 2. The antenna has a good directional radiation pattern with a gain range of 7.45 ~ 9.23dBi over the whole operating band. In addition, the antenna obtains a low back radiation.
