Research on The Algorithm of GPR Data Bandwidth Extension Based on Wavelet Transform
Enhancing the temporal resolution of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data has been one of the primary goals in GPR data processing, as higher temporal resolution can yield more precise information on the subsurface structure. In subterranean medium, high-frequency electromagnetic waves weaken more quickly. As a result, the signal's high-frequency component shows comparatively weak energy when it is broken down into the continuous wavelet domain. Enhancing resolution means making up for the lost high-frequency energy in the continuous wavelet domain, assuming that the amplitude spectral energy of high-resolution GPR signals is roughly horizontal. This paper presents an algorithm for bandwidth extension using Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) and explores the selection of key parameters to enhance the resolution of GPR data. The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed algorithm are validated using practical detection data.
