Optimization of Low-scattering Shape Using Differential Evolution Algorithm
In modern warfare, the survivability and penetration ability of weapons are truly crucial, therefore, the radar stealth technology of weapons has attracted widespread attention. Shape is the greatest impact factor on stealth performance, so it is meaningful for the study of shape stealth technology. This paper research on the optimization of low-scattering shape using differential evolution algorithm. The base missile dome model is parameterized by NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines) curves, so the shape of the missile dome can be adjusted by changing the coordinates of NURBS control points. The RCS (radar cross-section) of the models can be calculated by SBR (Shooting and Bouncing Ray) algorithm, subsequently, DE (differential evolution algorithm) is used to optimize the coordinate values of NURBS curve control points to find the optimal shape. The results show that compared with the base model, the RCS of optimized model has 5.9 dB reduction. The methods mentioned in this paper can be extended to surface optimization and can also be used for other aspects like optimizing the transmittance of radomes.
