Skeletonization-Scheme Sampling for Narrow-band Pulse Radar Target Detection
Narrowband pulse radar signals can be received and processed to detect the presence or absence of a target. However, the Nyquist sampling theorem, which has been used for radar signal target detection, actually acquires redundant information when the signal is sampled. The efficiency of signal sampling can be improved if the number of sampling points can be reduced without degradation of detection performance. This paper reduces the number of sampling points by introducing a skeletonization-scheme sampling for time-domain signal. Simulations show that when the number of sampling points and the detection performance are the same as that of the Nyquist sampling scheme, the skeletonization sampling scheme only requires narrower pulse width, which reduces the power consumption of the radar.
