On the Directivity, Gain and Realized Gain of Polarization Reconfigurable Antenna

To obtain superiority in electronic warfare, the phased array front-end system demands polarization agility capability, i.e., each antenna element can transmit or receive electromagnetic waves of any polarization through two orthogonally polarized antennas. In this paper, the directivity, gain and realized gain of such a polarization reconfigurable antenna (PRA) are explored by theoretical derivation and full-wave simulation.

Abstract

To obtain superiority in electronic warfare, the phased array front-end system demands polarization agility capability, i.e., each antenna element can transmit or receive electromagnetic waves of any polarization through two orthogonally polarized antennas. In this paper, the directivity, gain and realized gain of such a polarization reconfigurable antenna (PRA) are explored by theoretical derivation and full-wave simulation.
