A Compact Dual-Polarized Wideband Patch Antenna Array with Enhanced Isolation for Integrated Sensing and Communication
In this paper, a novel compact dual-polarized wideband patch antenna array with isolation improvement is proposed for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) at the ISM band. The decoupling technique is proposed and evolved to suppress the elements mutual coupling and self-interference of a 2×2 patch antenna array under the extremely closely edge-to-edge distance of 0.019 λ0. A prototype of this antenna is simulated, fabricated, and measured to validate the feasibility of the proposed design scheme. The measured results show that both the poor isolation between the Rx/Rx elements and self-interference between the Tx/Rx ports have been improved to better than 15 dB within a wide-matched bandwidth of 10.5%, indicating the proposed scheme is promising for wideband ISAC applications.
