A Study of the Near Singularity Problem in the High-Order Method of Moments
A method is proposed for evaluating near-singular integrals in the context of a high-order method of moments (MoM) for surface integral equations (SIE). In particular, the method is tailored towards the specific challenges associated with high-order elements and high-order basis functions. The method works for kernels with weak $\left( {\frac{1}{R}} \right)$ and strong $\left( {\nabla \frac{1}{R}} \right)$ singularity, and exhibits excellent efficiency and accuracy.
