Holographic Imaging Technology Based on Dual-polarization Programmable Metasurfaces
The utilizations of dual-polarization programmable metasurfaces in holographic imaging technology offer solutions to overcome the challenges in traditional holographic imaging techniques. Specifically, the conventional holographic imaging method usually suffers from suboptimal image quality and large structural footprint. The presented method in this work can address these problems and thus enable multi-channel dynamic imaging functionality. In this paper, a 1-bit dual-polarization programmable metasurface is utilized to address imaging objectives separately in the x and y polarizations, and the phase inversion algorithm is also used to obtain the phase distribution of the metasurface. Subsequently, simulation of polarization multiplexing holographic imaging with this dual-polarization programmable metasurface is implemented and verified. Simulation results demonstrate that the imaging outcomes of the metasurface are consistent with theoretical calculations, exhibiting stable performance across a wide bandwidth.
