Application of Ludwig Integrals to Shooting and Bouncing Ray Method for Analyzing Scattering Characteristics of Complex Targets

In this paper, a shooting and bouncing ray method (SBR) based on Ludwig integrals is proposed to compute the scattering characteristics of complex targets. The method proposed in this paper uses the Ludwig integrals to compute the contribution of lit triangles in the far field after ray tracing. Because of the characteristics of the Ludwig integral, the method proposed can significantly reduce the number of ray tubes required for the calculation and the accuracy of the results is acceptable.

Abstract

In this paper, a shooting and bouncing ray method (SBR) based on Ludwig integrals is proposed to compute the scattering characteristics of complex targets. The method proposed in this paper uses the Ludwig integrals to compute the contribution of lit triangles in the far field after ray tracing. Because of the characteristics of the Ludwig integral, the method proposed can significantly reduce the number of ray tubes required for the calculation and the accuracy of the results is acceptable.
