Phased array antenna aided by Array Decoupling Surface
To mitigate coupling effects between phased array antennas, enhance gain, and reduce scanning fluctuations, this paper proposes a slotted feed-backed cavity phased array antenna. An Array Decoupling Surface (ADS) is added above the antenna array to reduce coupling between elements. Finally, a 1×9 H-plane linear array phased array antenna is designed for validation. The antenna array operates at a central frequency of 14.5 GHz with an H-plane scanning angle of ±52°. The scanning gain fluctuation of the antenna is less than 0.62 dB, with a peak gain of 14 dB.
