A Broadband and Thin Absorber Using Resistive Frequency Selective Surface
A broadband and thin absorber in relation with frequency selective surface (FSS) is presented in this paper. The lossy layer of the structure consists of a double resonant plane FSS loaded with lumped resistors. The simulated results indicate that under normal incidence the working absorption bandwidth of the proposed absorber from 5.9GHz to 20.7GHz (111.3% in fractional bandwidth) is greater than 90%, and the thickness of the designed unit is only 4mm(0.079λ at lowest cutoff frequency). In addition, the effects of some geometrical dimensions and different incident angles on the sensitivity of absorption are studied.
