Energy-Selective Surface Absorbing In-Band and Out-of-Band High Power Microwave
An adaptive double-layer energy-selective surface is designed, consisting of an energy selective/absorption layer and an energy selective layer. It can absorb in-band and out-of-band high power microwave. The simulation results show that the insertion loss of the ESS unit is less than 1 dB for low-power signals in the range of 4.9-5.3 GHz and two absorption peaks are observed at 3 GHz and 6.57 GHz. When exposed to HPM, the shielding effectiveness is more than 20 dB and an absorption band range of 3.25-6.7 GHz is obtained. This novel ESS simultaneously achieves protection and stealth for high-power electromagnetic (EM) in a wide band.
