Miniaturized Leaky Waveguide Antenna with Fixed-Beam for High-Power Microwave Applications
A fixed-beam leaky waveguide antenna (LWA) featuring simple and miniaturized structure for high-power microwave (HPM) applications is proposed in this paper. The beam-squint reduction of conventional LWA is achieved by introducing a prism with the inverse dispersion behaviour in the radiating aperture. The miniaturized prism is precisely designed based on radiating characteristics of the LWA and geometrical optics. The proposed antenna radiates at an angle of 59.7◦ in a squint-free bandwidth of 3.9-4.5 GHz. And the simulated results show that the power-handling capacity (PHC) of the LWA is about 121 MW under the vacuum condition.
