Research on the application of wave absorbing materials in the design of ground penetrating radar antenna
This paper aims to explore the application requirements of absorbent materials in the design of time-domain ground-penetrating radar (GPR) antennas. It analyzes the propagation and absorption principle of absorbent materials at material interfaces and within materials. Based on the analysis, various loading methods of multi-layer composite foam absorbent materials are applied to the antennas. The CST electromagnetic simulation software is used to compare the simulation results of antennas with different loading methods in terms of waveform fidelity, gain, port impedance matching, and other parameters. Additionally, system-level modeling of transmission antennas, receiving antennas, detection scenarios, and target objects is conducted in conjunction with actual application scenarios. By comparing the received echo signals of antennas under different loading conditions, a study on the loading methods of absorbent materials is conducted, providing design and debugging guidance for engineering applications.
