Reconstructing Feed Pattern in a Composite Aperture

A millimeter-wave antenna integrated in a composite system is proposed for high-performance radars. Since it shares the same aperture with the optical system, the millimeter-wave feed of the reflector antenna is partially blocked. Due to this blockage, the power and phase patterns of the millimeter-wave feed are distorted. To solve this problem, the radiation pattern of the feed is reconstructed.

Abstract

A millimeter-wave antenna integrated in a composite system is proposed for high-performance radars. Since it shares the same aperture with the optical system, the millimeter-wave feed of the reflector antenna is partially blocked. Due to this blockage, the power and phase patterns of the millimeter-wave feed are distorted. To solve this problem, the radiation pattern of the feed is reconstructed.
