Design of a Miniaturized Log-Periodic Dipole Arrays Antenna Using End loaded Method
In this paper, a miniaturized Log-Periodic Dipole Arrays antenna (LPDA) using end-loaded dipole is presented. The length of the longest radiation dipole is shorter than 0.35λ at the lowest operating frequency, with a main-back lobe ratio greater than 13dB and a maximum gain better than 6.5dB. Measured results demonstrate that the miniaturized LPDA exhibits excellent radiation performance over a bandwidth of 3.3:1. The structure is easy to fabricate, and furthermore, this antenna can be utilized in broadband phased arrays due to its compact design.
