A Longitudinally Miniaturized SIW H-Plane Horn Antenna With Flat-Top Beam
A longitudinally miniaturized substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) H-plane horn antenna with flat-top beam (FTB) is proposed in this paper. The metal-via arrays are used to adjust the amplitude and phase of the horn aperture to achieve the FTB. The metal strips are aimed at impedance matching and gain improvement. The length reduction of the waveguide can further widen the 1dB beamwidth of FTB. Longitudinal miniaturization and FTB of SIW H-plane horn antenna are simultaneously implemented. The longitudinal length of the proposed horn is reduced by about 60%, and an FTB in the angle range of ±45 degrees is obtained, with the fluctuation less than 1 dB.
