Multi-Beam Fully Metallic Luneburg Lens Antenna Array with 360° Coverage
A multi-beam fully metallic Luneburg lens antenna array operating at X-band is presented in this paper. To obtain the 360° beam coverage in the horizontal plane, there are three lens antenna elements in the vertical dimension and each lens antenna element contains twelve radiation beams. The feeder of the lens antenna is the standard waveguide namely WR90, due to its concise structure and stable performance. The simulated results of the lens antenna array show that it can work over 8~12 GHz with good impedance match property and achieve a maximum aperture efficiency of 74% and the gain of 17.65 dBi. The proposed lens antenna array is much suitable for wireless communication and other application.
