Broadband circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna with branch loading
In this paper, a dielectric resonator antenna with broadband circular polarization characteristics is presented. By slotting the rectangular dielectric resonator diagonally, the length and width of the slots can be adjusted to excite the appropriate orthogonal modes to obtain circularly polarized characteristics in high frequency bands. Then by loading the upper surface copper-coated dielectric branches in the middle of the two rectangular slots to effectively reduce the value of the axial ratio in the middle band, thus integrating the two axial ratio passbands, the antenna achieves broadband circular polarization characteristics. Ultimately, the antenna obtains the impedance bandwidth of 56.6% (S11<-10dB, 2.42GHz-4.33GHz) and the axial-ratio bandwidth of 51.7% in θ=0°and ψ=0°directions (AR<3dB,2.42GHz-4.10GHz).
