EFEITOS DAS INTERVENÇÕES FISIOTERAPÊUTICAS NO TRATAMENTO E PREVENÇÃO DA ENTORSE DE TORNOZELO EM MULHERES ATLETAS DE VOLEIBOL: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Ankle soprai is a common injury, especially in sports such as volleyball, characterized by the twisting of the ligaments of the joint, usually caused by an inversion, which occurs during impact movements with the ground, such as jumps and sudden changes of direction. This type of injury affects both athletes with a history of sprains and those without previous injuries. The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of different physical therapy approaches, such as proprioceptive exercises, strengthening training, manual therapy, warm-up programs, and the use of bandages, in the prevention and rehabilitation of ankle sprains in volleyball athletes. This is an integrative review, using the PICO strategy (P: Population – Women volleyball athletes; I: Interest – Physiotherapeutic conducts; Co: Context – Treatment and prevention of ankle sprains), with the guiding question: "Are physiotherapeutic interventions effective in the treatment and prevention of ankle sprains in women who practice volleyball?". The search was carried out in the PUBMED, LILACS, PEDro, SciELO, and Web of Science databases, considering articles published between 2013 and 2024. Eight articles were identified with the descriptors "women", "volleyball", "ankle" and "physiotherapy". The results indicate that proprioceptive exercises, strengthening training, manual therapy, aquatic rehabilitation, warm-up programs and the use of functional elastic bandages, when applied properly, promote greater joint stability and reduce injury recurrence. It is concluded that these techniques, especially proprioceptive training, muscle strengthening, aquatic rehabilitation and the use of bandages, are effective, improving stability, balance and proprioception, in addition to accelerating the return of athletes to physical activities.

Ankle soprai is a common injury, especially in sports such as volleyball, characterized by the twisting of the ligaments of the joint, usually caused by an inversion, which occurs during impact movements with the ground, such as jumps and sudden changes of direction.
