An Assessment of the irrigation potential of the groundwater in Abyei, West Kordofan State - Sudan
In the Kordofan region, groundwater is a precious resource that is essential for any and all aspects of everyday life. This study's goal is to assess groundwater's appropriateness for agriculture. This developed from the population's shift from a pastoral lifestyle that was really mobile to an agricultural and industrial one that was stable. About 70 samples were taken from various locations, and they were examined. These samples underwent chemical and physical analysis, and the electrical conductivity measurements and the amount of dissolved solid salts were utilized to evaluate them. According to the percentage of sodium and magnesium absorption, the chlorine and mineral line index, the exchangeable sodium ratio, the chlorine line indicator, and the residual sodium carbonate ratios, agricultural transactions were thus found, and the groundwater in the region was classified as suited to agriculture.
