Application of Detectors DTG-4 for Clinical Dosimetry of Photon Beams of Linear Electron Accelerators

Purpose: To calibrate DTG-4 detectors in high-energy photon beams of a linear electron accelerator. Evaluate the possibility of using detectors of this type in clinical dosimetry in radiation therapy departments equipped with high energy linear accelerators. Material and methods: The DTG-4 detectors were irradiated with photon beams from the Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator, and readout was performed using the DOZA-TLD dosimetry system. A methodology for calibrating detectors for photon beams from linear electron accelerators used in radiation therapy is described. Resuits: The detectors were individually calibrated, and the dependencies of the detector readings on the absorbed dose, energy, and dose rate were investigated. The calibration data for the detectors in photon beams with nominal energies of 6, 10, and 18 MeV are presented. The results indicate the presence of an energy-dependent sensitivity of the detectors. Conclusion; DTG-4 detectors can be used for clinical dosimetry in radiation therapy with high-energy photon beams at radiation doses less than 2.5 Gy.
