Consumer-Focused Solutions for Energy Mobility and Security in Off-Grid Farmhouses

This paper introduces an innovative solar-powered solution aimed at promoting sustainable living in remote areas, encompassing both farmhouses and island based isolated residential areas where reliable electricity access is particularly challenging. Highlighting the implementation of a solar panel using Maximum Power Point Tracking by using Perturb and Observe algorithm, coupled with a Battery Backup System (BBS), this setup serves as primary power source. It ensures consistent electricity supply for Power Energizer Circuit (PEC), charging of Light Electric Vehicles (LEV) and local household loads. The PEC produces High Voltage Pulses (HVP) for security applications, following safety standards specified in the IEC 60335-2-76:2002, utilizing the Modified Voltage Tripler Circuit (MVTC). The key feature of MVTC circuit is to produce HVP of magnitude exceeding 13 kV, sustained for few milliseconds. Advanced control techniques adjust HVP parameters and optimize the BBS based on solar irradiance levels. The developed control technique is tested on experimental setup for the PEC, LEV charging, and household load power supply, under three distinct conditions: no, low and high solar irradiance. In each scenario, PEC generates HVP, effectively charges LEV, and provides adequate power to household loads. This comprehensive testing demonstrates the system’s reliability and effectiveness across varying solar conditions.
