Performance Analysis of RS-Aided THz Communication Systems With Additive Transceiver Hardware Distortions

This paper studies the performance of a <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$K$</tex-math></inline-formula> -user rate splitting (RS) assisted terahertz (THz) wireless communication transmission systems with additive transceiver hardware distortions (ATHD). Among them, the THz link is affected by three factors including high path loss, fading effect, and pointing errors. Exact expressions of the probability density function (PDF) and the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) for each user are derived. Using these statistical expressions, precise analytical expressions for average rate (AR), outage probability (OP), and average bit error rate (BER) can be obtained. By comparing the simulation results with the numerical calculations, the precision of the theoretical framework is verified. Additionally, asymptotic analysis is performed and diversity gains are obtained for further insights. According to these performance indicators, the communication system's performance is evaluated and finally the validation results are plotted. The results show that pointing errors and ATHD have a great impact on system performance, and the RS scheme can improve the performance of THz wireless transmission systems.
