A Study on The Impact of Uncertainty on Container Supply Process Using System Dynamics
This study identifies that the increasing occurrence of uncertainties due to persistent global issues has led to significant disruptions and delays in the maritime container supply process, resulting in substantial losses and bankruptcies for many logistics companies. Consequently, this research classifies the impact of uncertainties based on different global issues and groups them according to the process occurrence region for analysis. Furthermore, using system dynamics, a Casual Loop Diagram is presented to define the relationships between each process, and a Stock-Flow Diagram is used to develop a model for simulating the container supply process. Based on the established simulation scenarios, a simulation of the container supply process for large vessels is conducted, analyzing the impact on the container supply process based on grouped uncertainties, and identifying both positive and negative influences. The results of this study enable the determination of the impact of uncertainties caused by global issues on the maritime and land container supply processes. Additionally, it provides managerial insights for companies to adequately respond to global issues and suggests future development directions and measures to minimize the resulting damages.
