Development of a UX Design Training Program Based on App Review Data Analysis
App reviews provide valuable insights into user opinions and are increasingly used to enhance products and services. However, junior UX designers and students often struggle with the lack of clear criteria for analyzing extensive review data. This study aims to develop an educational toolkit to assist these individuals in effectively analyzing app reviews. Through interviews with UX experts, we identified practical insights and established 9 criteria for app review analysis. The toolkit offers a 'Basic analysis' method to identify common service-related problems and a 'Core analysis' approach to prioritize solutions based on key issues. To validate the toolkit's effectiveness, two workshops with eight UX design students and evaluations from four experts were conducted. The findings demonstrate that the toolkit facilitates a better understanding of app review analysis criteria and supports a systematic analysis process. This toolkit is expected to be a valuable resource for junior UX designers and students with limited practical experience.
