The importance of managing the moral component of combat power in the context of combat operations Abstract: Whatever the character of war, its scale or intensity are, the nature of war by its essential characteristics - uncertainty, chaos, friction and psychic pressure, generates the need to effectively manage the moral component of combat power. The warfare, a unique social phenomenon, characterized by extreme violence resulting from the desire of the parties involved to impose their will by force, accentuates this need. The contemporary battlefield, characterized by its extended lethality, imposes to the military commanders to adapt their approach in planning, preparation and execution of the operations. In this context, the management of the moral component represents a benchmark of the operational process, and the manner in which this process is conducted can serve to either multiply or, conversely, to reduce combat power. The main objective of this research paper is to identify empirical solutions for the effective management of the moral component of combat power in the modern battlefield. The results of the research provide, in particular for tactical level commanders, valuable guidance on the role and how to manage the moral component of combat power in the conduct of combat operations. Importanța gestionării componentei morale a puterii de luptă în contextul operațiilor specifice luptei armate Rezumat: Indiferent de caracterul războiului, amploarea sau intensitatea sa, natura acestuia, prin caracteristicile sale esențiale - incertitudinea, haosul, fricțiunea și presiune psihică, generează nevoia de a gestiona eficient componenta morală a puterii de luptă. Lupta armată, un fenomen social unic, caracterizat de violență extremă rezultată din dorința părților implicate de a-și impune voința prin forță, accentuează această nevoie. Câmpul de luptă contemporan, prin letalitatea lui extinsă impune comandanților militari să-și adapteze modul în care abordează planificarea, pregătirea și execuția operațiilor. În acest context, gestionarea componentei morale reprezintă un reper al procesului operațional, modul în care acest proces este realizat putându-se constitui într-un factor multiplicator sau dimpotrivă demultiplicator a puterii de luptă. Obiectivul principal al acestui demers îl reprezintă identificarea empirică a unor soluții care să permită gestionarea eficientă a componentei morale a puterii de luptă în condițiile câmpului de luptă modern. Rezultatele cercetării oferă, îndeosebi comandanților nivelului tactic, repere valoroase în ceea ce privește rolul și modul de gestionare a componentei morale a puterii de luptă în desfășurarea operațiilor de luptă.
