Research on the Confirmation Mechanism of Satellite Network

In space links, due to the asymmetric bandwidth between forward and reverse links, reverse link congestion and low forward link throughput can occur. Therefore, the traditional Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) cannot meet the communication requirements of space links. To address this issue, this paper improves the original acknowledgment mechanism by using the concept of the Tamed Acknowledgment (TACK) mechanism, adjusting the frequency and amount of acknowledgment information returned without changing the TCP architecture. This enhances the reverse link's congestion resistance and increases the forward link's throughput. Simulations were conducted on the OMNeT++ platform, and the results demonstrate that this method can effectively alleviate reverse link congestion and improve network transmission performance in space links.
