Research on Cellular Mechanical Properties for Lung Tumor Subtypes Classification and Prediction

Understanding the mechanical properties of cancer stem cells is important for studying the occurrence and development of cancer. However, little is known about the cellular mechanical properties of patients in clinical. In this paper, we explored the change laws and the intrinsic mechanisms of the mechanical properties of CSCs and tumor cells (TCs) from lung tumor patients and applied the cellular mechanical properties to lung tumor subtypes classification and prediction in clinical. Our results revealed significant differences in cellular mechanical properties between different tumor types, and the mechanical properties of single CSCs and TCs were used to classify the lung tumor subtypes with an accuracy of more than 90% in less than 5 hours, much faster than conventional techniques with about 5 days. Thus, our work has profound implications for cancer prediction and diagnosis.
