The Study on Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy for Real-time Monitoring the Laser Cleaning of Carbon Fiber Plate
Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) was utilized to assess the laser removal degree of epoxy resin coating on carbon fiber plate. The experiment was conducted with two Nd: YAG lasers. One laser cleans the sample, the other laser is used to produce plasma from epoxy resin which is attached to the surface of carbon fiber plate. The laser cleaning process was monitored by measuring the plasma spectra when removing epoxy resin coatings. The result showed that the removal depth of epoxy resin coating increased with the laser pulses number, the plasma emission of the elements decreases. The electron density and plasma temperature of characteristic elements also decreased with the laser cleaning numbers. This research can provide technical support for LIBS to monitor the laser cleaning process online and realize automatic and intelligent laser cleaning.
