Numerical Analysis of the Factors Influencing Rock Crushing by High Voltage Electrical Pulses

In order to explore the influencing factors of high-voltage electric pulse fracture rock, the COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation software was used to establish a strong pulse discharge rock cracking model, and the influence of pulse voltage, electrode spacing, rock properties and insulating fluid on high-voltage pulse fractured rock was explored through the internal electric field strength and crushing effect of the rock. The results show that the crushing effect of rock is best when the insulating fluid is transformer oil, and the rock is more easily broken with the increase of voltage. At the same time, the electrode spacing is inversely proportional to the rock crushing effect. The effect of rock properties on its fragmentation is not worth mentioning; In addition, the crushing effect of conical discharge electrode is better.
