Numerical Simulation of the Effect of Conical-disc Wave-Shaper on Jet Performance
To study the influence of wave-shaped on the jetting performance and penetration capability of shaped charges, nonlinear dynamic simulation software AUTODYN-2D was employed to simulate and calculate the effect of wave-shaper diameter on jetting performance. The results showed that increasing the wave-shaper diameter was beneficial for enhancing jet velocity, demonstrating that altering the wave-shaper dimensions can affect jetting performance. Subsequently, the primary and secondary influencing relationships between wave-shaped diameter (d), wave-shaped thickness (H), and stand-off height (S) on jetting were investigated using an orthogonal experimental design. The results indicated that wave-shaped diameter had a greater influence than stand-off height and wave-shaped thickness. Furthermore, it was found that when the wave-shaped diameter (d) was 36mm, wave-shaped thickness (H) was 10mm, and stand-off height (S) was 10mm, the jet velocity reached its maximum. This study provides further reference for the design and research of charge configurations incorporating wave-shaper.
