46 The benefits of cardiac rehab clinical leads within an NHS England clinical network

Background
Clinical Networks were re-established throughout England in late 2021. As part of the networks, Clinical Leads were embedded into the workforce to provide expert clinical guidance and to support the workstreams of the network.
Aim
This abstract highlights the impact of Cardiac Rehab Clinical Leads within the Northwest Coast (NWC) Clinical Network, formally the Cheshire and Merseyside (C&M) and Lancashire and South Cumbria (L&SC) Clinical Networks.
Methods
Four key priorities were identified by NHS England for the cardiac rehab (CR) targeted funding for both 2022-23 and 2023-24 funding waves. The C&M Clinical Network successfully submitted bids for this funding during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 funding windows.
Results
Successful targeted funding was secured by the previous C&M Clinical Network as detailed below in table 1.
Conclusion
CR Clinical Leads have the ability to provide benefit to Clinical Networks to be able to drive forward provision of cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation services on a network wide scale.
