DAMAGE QUANTIFICATION AND PROPOSAL OF DAMAGE EVALUATION INDEX FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE SHEAR WALLS VIA DETAILED MEASUREMENTS

Detailed measurement methods such as motion capture, digital image correlation (DIC), and optical fiber sensor were applied to loading tests of reinforced concrete deep beams simulating shear wall panels to measure concrete cracks and rebar strains. The crack quantification method based on the DIC in an earlier study was improved so that it can be applied to 2D-DIC data including much noise. In addition, a new damage evaluation index for shear walls was proposed based on the analysis of the measured data from the past shear wall loading tests, which solves the problems of the current method of damage evaluation.

Abstract

Detailed measurement methods such as motion capture, digital image correlation (DIC), and optical fiber sensor were applied to loading tests of reinforced concrete deep beams simulating shear wall panels to measure concrete cracks and rebar strains. The crack quantification method based on the DIC in an earlier study was improved so that it can be applied to 2D-DIC data including much noise. In addition, a new damage evaluation index for shear walls was proposed based on the analysis of the measured data from the past shear wall loading tests, which solves the problems of the current method of damage evaluation.
