Development of a High-speed Storage Device with a 10ms Cycle Reflecting the Water Hammer Recognition Algorithm

In the water industry, it is important to identify the location of the source of the water shock and analyze the cause of the occurrence. In this paper, when a water shock occurs in a pipe, an algorithm is applied to estimate the location of a water shock source using pressure data stored by 100 pieces per second in a high-speed storage pressure measurement device, and a solution to prevent an accident against a water shock in advance through precise cause analysis is presented. To verify the performance of the proposed position estimation algorithm, 100 pressure data per second stored in the high-speed storage pressure measuring device were used.As a result of the experiment, the range of error in position estimation compared to the existing system is reduced from 1000m to 10m so that information on the position of the water shock source can be more accurately identified. In addition, information on the number of hand shocks is displayed, and at regular times, only one data per second is collected.Still, the function that can store 100 data per second only when a hand shock occurs is implemented to manage the data more efficiently.Analyzing the position and cause of the hand shock source can extend the life of the pipe and help the pipe system operate safely.
