Artificial Intelligence Art: A Study on the Perceptual and Interactive Characteristics as an Artistic Medium
This paper aims to explore the essential attributes of AI art and investigate how it changes traditional perceptions and interactive modes in the art field. In this paper, the author delves into AI technology's various possibilities and limitations as an artistic creative medium.Firstly, through a comprehensive theoretical analysis of the relationship between art and media, the paper understands AI art based on "AI as an artistic medium."Secondly, through a case study method, the paper analyzes AI artworks. It summarizes their characteristics in perception and interaction, such as extending sensory cognition and relationship extension, which traditional art media do not possess. The emergence of AI art reflects the new forms and connotations that technological development brings to art, opening up new realms for contemporary artistic creation. However, it also raises new issues like sensory fragmentation and data bias.Although AI art is novel, it still needs to trace its roots within the existing framework of art theory, comprehensively understand its essence, and redefine the position of art in the technological era.Facing the new era of scientific and technological change and media transformation, the paper emphasizes the need for a cross-disciplinary perspective to recognize art and bring it into a new paradigm for self-breakthrough.
