An Intensive Study on Curcuma longa and Dalbergia sissoo as Possible Promising Combination for the Treatment of Various Ailments

This review explores the therapeutic potential of Curcuma longa and Dalbergia sissoo highlighting their pharmacological activities and their use in traditional medicine systems like Ayurveda.C. longa, rich in curcumin and other phytochemicals, exhibits a range of biological activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer effects.Clinical trials have shown its potential in treating conditions like uveitis, Alzheimer's disease, asthma, and gastrointestinal disorders. In contrast, D. sissoo has limited clinical data, though preclinical studies suggest its effectiveness in bone healing and anti-osteoporotic activities.Despite their shared therapeutic properties, such as antioxidant, antiinflammatory, anticancer and hepatoprotective effects, studies investigating the synergistic potential of these two plants in combination are lacking. The review emphasizes the importance of future research to explore the combined pharmacological benefits of C. longa and D. sissoo, especially for chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, and cancer.A combined approach could offer enhanced therapeutic outcomes, making these plants valuable candidates for novel drug development.
