DERMATOFITOSE EM CADELA DA RAÇA POODLE – RELATO DE CASO

Dermatophytosis is an infectious disease caused mainly by the fungi Microsporum canis and Trichophyton mentagrophytes, which generally affect the superficial layers of the skin. The present work aims to report the case of a 9-year-old Poodle dog that was affected by infection by Trychophyton spp. The patient presented intense itching on the left thoracic limb, back and ventral region, accompanied by hair thinning. The diagnosis was confirmed through skin scrapings and fungal culture, and topical treatment was prescribed with ketoconazole-based shampoo (2% concentration) with chlorhexidine and systemic treatment with oral itraconazole at a dose of 10 mg/kg once a day, for 60 days. The animal showed complete healing of the lesions 1 month after starting treatment, with no recurrence during the 4-month follow-up.
