La vie intime des pierres

A Through the study of ancient and contemporary texts, this study shows that the links between sexuality and mineralogy are more tenuous than one might think at first glance. Throughout History, human being has felt a form of fascination for sex and its representation, both in its carnal and generative function, and as early as the 3rd millennium BC, asked the question of the reproduction of gemstones. Between medicines, beliefs and cults, human beings have relied on the mischievous aspect of nature and minerals to freeze a fertile imagination in stone.

Abstract

A Through the study of ancient and contemporary texts, this study shows that the links between sexuality and mineralogy are more tenuous than one might think at first glance. Throughout History, human being has felt a form of fascination for sex and its representation, both in its carnal and generative function, and as early as the 3rd millennium BC, asked the question of the reproduction of gemstones. Between medicines, beliefs and cults, human beings have relied on the mischievous aspect of nature and minerals to freeze a fertile imagination in stone.
