Analyzing carbon emission reduction and economic potential of retrofitting existing residences in China’s HSCW zone with progressive energy-saving targets
This study aims to analyze retrofitting existing residential buildings in China’s HSCW zone for green and ultra-low-energy goals. Three scenarios based on progressive energy targets are assessed. Scenario one achieves 40.35% carbon reduction, saving 133,118.49 kgCO2eq with NPV of ¥9,518.24. Scenario two achieves 58.63% reduction, saving 193,449.81 kgCO2eq with NPV ¥ 2,226.88. Scenario three achieves 64.66% reduction, saving 213,322.39 kgCO2eq with NPV ¥-10,588.95. Results expected to drive sustainable development and energy efficiency in buildings, meeting carbon reduction goals.
