ALTERAÇÕES NO DIAGNÓSTICO LABORATORIAL RELACIONADO À SEPTICEMIA BACTERIANA EM RECÉM-NASCIDOS PREMATUROS
Neonatal sepsis is a serious condition that affects newborns, divided into sepsis early and late. Early is related to contamination during birth, while late is linked to the hospital environment. Early diagnosis is challenging due to the diversity and non-specificity of symptoms. The exams laboratory tests, such as complete blood count and blood culture, are essential for the diagnosis. Hematological biomarkers, such as ITR and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio, can improve diagnostic accuracy. Understanding these aspects is crucial for effective treatment and to reduce the high rates of neonatal mortality due to bacterial sepsis. This project aims to contribute to the study of the main changes hematological tests in premature newborns with bacterial septicemia through of a theoretical-systematic analysis of existing literature, published in recent ten years. The results of this research may have significant implications for understanding of the disease, in addition to serving as a basis for future projects, contributing for broader knowledge on the topic under study.
