The Senses of Birth exhibition aims to promote natural birth to improve health and enhance the home birth experience. This article aims to carry out a narrative review of research on obstetric violence. So far, the history of childbirth and its interventions, the concept of obstetric violence, the legal framework and the Brazilian panorama of maternity care have been discussed. After reviewing the research carried out on the topic, it was found that there is no consensus on the concept of obstetric violence in Rondônia, although there is evidence that this practice is occurring.
