ESTUDO SOBRE O INGRESSO DE ESTUDANTES COM DEFICIÊNCIA NOS CURSOS DE GRADUAÇÃO DA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE GOIÁS
This study aims to analyze and discuss the characteristics of Students with Disabilities (SwD) who enrolled between 2010 and 2021 in undergraduate courses at a Federal University, relating these characteristics to the reservation policies. The goal is to understand how these policies influenced the characteristics of the SwD admitted to the University. For the data analysis, we conducted a descriptive evaluation of open data on the number of incoming students at the University from 2010 to 2021. The results indicate a significant increase in the number of SwD starting in 2018 due to the guarantee of access to reserved spots, with students having various conditions of disabilities, thereby enhancing the plurality and diversity of undergraduate students in the University's courses. Furthermore, beyond the need and importance of implementing accessibility policies and actions, we highlight the imperative of focusing on inclusive practices to ensure the retention of students with quality education.
