Theoretical Study of Force Parameters of Drawing in a Roller Matrix
Drawing is a process of metal pressure treatment, which involves dragging the workpiece through a narrowing hole, the dimensions of which are smaller than the cross-sectional dimensions of the workpiece. Blow molding is an effective method of plastic processing of metals, which is widely used in the production of rods, wires, pipes and other long products. Force factors acting in the process of drawing in rolling matrices are discussed, specifically, drawing stresses and contact pressure. As a result of the theoretical study, the relationship between the drawing stresses and the deformation parameters under different contact friction conditions has been established, which allows us to select the optimal values of the degree of deformation and the stretching coefficient, which are required to obtain wire from a small-diameter rod roll. Based on the solution of the differential equation of the specific pressures acting in the rolling matrices, calculation formulas for the determination of the specific stresses and contact pressure have been obtained. The results of the calculations are given in the form of tables and graphs. From the results of the theoretical research, it is clear that the drawing stresses at high values of the stretch coefficient is higher than the yield point of the material, which is why the stretch coefficient should not be more than (1.4 – 1.5).
